Wall-E: Review

Pixar have become the masters of the computer generated animation, and even they have managed to surpass themselves with this outstanding piece of cinema.

Set in the future, where the earth is but inhabited except for a bug and a robot who collects junks, Wall-E dreams of a romantic life in which he can hold hands and watch his favourite scenes from Hello Dolly. Enter Eve (or as Wall-E calls her, Eva) and his dreams could be coming true. Except she is has been sent to probe the earth of signs of life, and once she has it, she is sent back to a mother ship with Wall-E in tow.

Sure, it has a strong Eco message, and it isn't as uplifting as previous Pixar efforts, but this is a stunning piece of cinema, beautifully crafted and with possibly the most human performance you will see all year.

It will make you laugh, make you cry and have you humming songs from Hello Dolly all day long. A triumph and quite possibly the film of the year...without a doubt.
